Delhi wins first section 4 soccer championship

First off, I would just like to say congratulations to the 2008 Delhi Boys soccer team for playing one heck of a season. Winning Delhi’s first section 4 soccer championship and taking an undefeated record to the state quarterfinals is something to be proud of. It’s something that will be remembered for a long time. I’m glad that I was around to watch and photograph the games. Second, I’ve finally got all the game photos up for your viewing pleasure. Click on a game below to open a gallery with that game’s photos. Take a look around and enjoy the photos. If you have any questions or are interested in purchasing a print, please email me(dylan@tuckeredoutfilms.com) with the number of the photo(s), what game it was from, and what size print you would like (16×20, 11×14, 8×10, 5×7, etc…) and I will respond asap with pricing and any other information you might need. Most photos can be brightened, cropped, zoomed, etc…just ask if you would like this done to a particular photo. Due to the number of photos, I was not able to do this before hand.

Enjoy!

Waiting for winter

Well, It’s been pretty cold lately, so I think winter is here…I hope.  We need some snow that sticks soon. That way I can get out and shoot some skiing pictures. I’ve got lots of ideas for this winter and will try to keep this updated semi-regularly with some photos, and the story behind them. In the mean time, here are a couple photos from last winter.  I entered a couple photo contest last year. I actually won the first contest I entered, and was listed in the honorable mention for the other. This got me really excited to get out there and shoot more this year. Last winter was really hectic and I only got out shooting skiing 4 or 5 times. Both were shot in upstate NY at night, in below zero temperatures. I’d like to thank Nick for doing some great skiing, and sticking it out, even when it was really cold, and he should have been inside doing homework. Anyways, here they are.

Thunder Ridge MX 7-27-08

Ryan Jumps one of the doubles:
Ryan Sluiter MX jump

This weekend marked motocross race #2 for me. Last month it was Unadilla, this month it was Thunder Ridge. As I arrived, the first thing I saw was somebody coming back from their practice completely covered in mud. At this point I knew I would get some good shots regardless of the weather. It was muddy in the morning, and so dry in the afternoon that they started to spray the track to keep the dust down.

Casey had another good weekend, taking first overall with two wins. Ryan was fast all day, winning his first race, and placing third in his second race. He took second overall. Ryan took home first place at Supercross on Friday night in Little Falls. Once again I had a lot of fun and got some good shots. Check out all the photos here: You can check out all of the pictures here: http://www.tuckeredoutfilms.com/greenfish/thunderridge72708/

I ran into this guy (or girl) on my way home and helped it across the road. Although not to keen on moving quickly, after a while, I got it to safety. I had never seen a snapping turtle this big in the wild. It was about the size of my steering wheel:

Unadilla MX Races

This past weekend, I met up with Matt, Ryan, Casey, Rick, and Evan at the Unadilla District 3 motocross races. Rain threatened early in the day, but it turned out to be nice with lots of sun, and lots of riding. I spent most of the day around the middle of the track, near the gravity cavity (the largest jump on the course). I had never been to an MX race before, so I really had no idea what to expect. It turned out to be a lot of fun. We got some great pictures too. I’m excited to check out the next race.

Casey had a great day with two first place finishes, and first overall in the woman’s division. Coming off a first place finish last weekend, Ryan raced to two third place finishes this weekend for another solid outing. Rick and Jeremy battled it out all day in the over 30 class, each coming away with one win, and one second place finish. Rick will be racing in the amateur/expert class next time. You can check out some of the photos here: Unadilla MX Web Photo Album

Sacketts Harbour Battlefield State Historic Site tour: This is one of thirteen videos that I created as a part of an internship for the New York Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation. They were shot with very little equipment and usually in one day each. There was almost no artificial lighting in these videos due to the nature and rules of the historic sites. The purpose of the videos was to bring the historic sites in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities act. Click here to go on the tour of Sacketts Harbor Battlefield. sacketts harbor

Photo Blogging

I started photo blogging June 17, 2007. Sometimes I’ll post almost every day…sometimes there is a week between posts. I really enjoy doing it though. It’s a good excuse to get out and shoot some pictures; you get some great feedback, and in looking at other blogs witness some amazing photography.
